WHAT IS A FRAPPUCCINO?
A Frappuccino is a blended coffee or non-coffee (“cream-based”) drink that is icy and thick. The main ingredients are milk, ice cream, and sweetener and to top it off there is whipped cream! Starbucks has many types of coffee and cream Mocha cookie crumble on their menu and they are always a hit! You can get chocolate, caramel, vanilla, chai, espresso, coffee-based Frappuccinos, and even strawberry! Seasonally, there’s Frappuccino and Peppermint with Pumpkin Spice! To be honest, I only ate the chocolate-based varieties because chocolate is my favorite
Now the Mocha Cookie Crumble is my favorite Frappuccino mixer at Starbucks, and has been since I came to Canada in 2013 or 2014 and had my first Mocha Cookie Crumble. It turns out that the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino used to be just a seasonal drink for the summer, but due to demand, it’s available year-round.
IS THERE CAFFEINE IN THE MOCHA COOKIE CRUMBLE FRAPPUCCINO?
Yes, this Frappuccino recipe contains caffeine. When ordering Mocha Cookie Crumble in the Starbucks app, you’ll notice that the recipe defaults to “3 Frappuccino® Roast Pump(s)” for a large drink (16 fluid ounces). FOR THE MOCHA COOKIE CRUMBLE FRAPPUCCINO
• Ice Cubes: You need ice for this drink! The amount is important because you don’t want it to be too runny like a smoothie and you want just the right amount of pieces of Mocha Cookie Crumble. But you also don’t want it to be too thick, like a slushie. Crushed ice or ice cubes are both good.
• Milk: According to the standard recipe and my personal preference, I use whole cow’s milk. Use skimmed milk if needed.
• Whipped Cream:
Based on the early versions of the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, I use my homemade chocolate whipped cream! Although I’ve never seen it myself, I did a quick Google search and it looks like Hershey’s sells chocolate whipped cream in a spray can if you don’t want to make it yourself, although I recommend homemade!
• Oreo Cookies:
Use regular Oreos to mimic the type of mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino recipe sprinkles Starbucks uses. You can also use gluten-free Oreos if you are making these for someone with a gluten intolerance.
• Chocolate chips: In the recipe, you see that 3 scoops of “java chips” are added to the drink. I’m not sure what these are exactly, but they look like chocolate chips, so let’s get to it! These are put in the mixer.
• Chocolate Syrup:
I based this chocolate sauce on my Café Mocha Chocolate Syrup recipe, without the addition of instant coffee. It’s super easy to prepare! You put your chocolate syrup in the mixer, in the bottom of the cup, and in the top of the cup.
• Coffee:
For a stronger taste, you can brew your favorite coffee with a French press. Otherwise, a normal coffee machine works perfectly. If you have an espresso machine, be sure to take it!
• Sweeteners:
When you order Frappuccino online, you will notice that the drink is not sweetened with syrup. to the drink. You can buy one if you want, or if you don’t want to use vanilla syrup, don’t worry! For sugar-free options, you can also use Splenda or Stevia.
